Doula:
an ancient Greek word meaning 'a woman who serves.'
Typically, Doulas are associated with childbirth; however Doulas are now more widely used as support for clients through significant life events and end of life transition for both the client as well as their surrounding family, friends and special people.
What can an end of life Doula offer?
End of life Planning and Preparation
Help with arranging Wills, Advanced Health Care Planning, Power of Attorney, Enduring Power of Attorney.
After Life limiting/terminal diagnosis
Support at medical appointments, help with death plan and funeral plan.
Support during active dying stage
Creating safe and respectful space, providing Reiki and alternative healing options.
Final Transition
Spiritual support at this sacred time.
Post transition
Help with arranging life celebrations, funerals and natural burials.
Care for the living
Grief support and referrals if necessary.
A Doula WILL NOT give Medical or Clinical advice.
